EGDIF
Shea is one of Africa's most valuable natural resources, yet millions of women who collect and process shea nuts continue to receive only a small fraction of its economic value. EGDIF is committed to transforming the shea sector from a largely informal activity into a competitive, sustainable, and globally recognised industrial value chain that creates jobs, expands local enterprises, and drives inclusive economic growth.
Through the Shea Industrialisation Programme, EGDIF promotes value addition across the entire value chain—from sustainable resource management and community mobilisation to processing, product development, quality assurance, branding, packaging, and market access. The programme supports women-led cooperatives, youth entrepreneurs, SMEs, and producer groups while strengthening local processing capacity and increasing participation in domestic and international markets.
A key component of this programme is the development of the Shea Park Resource Hub, an integrated centre for processing, enterprise incubation, research, innovation, technical training, and investment promotion. The Hub is designed to accelerate industrialisation, create decent jobs, enhance women's economic empowerment, and position Ghana as a leading producer of high-value shea products.
EGDIF is headquartered in Accra, Ghana. Our team coordinates digital development initiatives, capacity-building programs, and community-focused innovation projects across Africa.
