EGDIF The SheaPark Resource Hub is a flagship initiative dedicated to transforming the shea sector into a powerful engine for economic growth, industrial development, and community prosperity in the Upper West Region and beyond.
Established as a centre for innovation, enterprise development, value addition, skills training, and investment promotion, the Hub is creating new opportunities for women, youth, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, and local industries to participate in a more competitive and sustainable shea economy.
Through strategic partnerships and integrated value chain development, the SheaPark Resource Hub is helping unlock the immense potential of shea and other natural resources while supporting job creation, wealth generation, environmental stewardship, and inclusive regional transformation.
The SheaPark Resource Hub is a flagship agro-industrial transformation initiative designed to reposition the Upper West Region as a leading centre for shea value addition, enterprise development, and inclusive economic growth. It is anchored in the belief that natural resources must deliver industrial value, jobs, and long-term prosperity for local communities.
For decades, the shea sector has remained largely informal and export-driven at the raw material level, limiting income opportunities for women and reducing the region’s industrial potential. The SheaPark Resource Hub addresses this gap by building an integrated ecosystem that connects production, processing, innovation, investment, and market access.
The Hub brings together cooperatives, women processors, youth entrepreneurs, private investors, research institutions, development partners, and government stakeholders to strengthen the entire shea value chain and unlock scalable economic opportunities.
Beyond shea, the Hub serves as a broader development platform for enterprise creation, skills development, green industrialisation, and sustainable livelihoods across Northern Ghana.
Transform raw shea nuts into high-value products through modern processing and packaging systems.
Strengthen women-led cooperatives and expand income opportunities across the shea value chain.
